The 7 Wonders in 7 Days Charity Auction and Tweetup is a charity event raising funds for 7 Wonders in 7 days, a round-the-world charity fundraising trip taking place in September 2009. Read the full social media news release.
Come along for an evening of fun and entertainment at the Living Room, Deansgate, Manchester.
There’s plenty planned for the night, from a fun charity auction to live music from award winning cellist and pioneer of contemporary music, Peter Gregson.
Widely read comic fantasy author Sir Terry Pratchett OBE has sent a signed book for the auction. The celebrated author best known for his popular and long-running Discworld series of comic fantasy novels has sent a signed copy of his children’s novel, A Hat Full of Sky.
Sir Terry Pratchett was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease in 2007. He is patron of Alzheimer’s Research Trust, one of the charities being supported by the 7 Wonders in 7 Days trip and has sold 65 million books worldwide.
Peter Gregson fuses contemporary and classical music with contemporary digital culture, in March he performed at Twitter's offices in San Francisco. He also performed at Twestival. More recently, in April he performed at the Classic FM Live concert at a sold out Royal Albert Hall.
Peter Gregson won the prestigious Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland award in November 2008 and was recently the cellist on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s revolutionary HyperBow project.
Manchester-based old skool vinyl supremo, Widdy will be providing some chilled laid back tunes in between Peter's sets and the charity auction.
